I am very impressed by the quality of this series of books and the messages within. They story includes important messages about what is positive about looking or being different and includes definitions of words that younger readers may not know. The art work is also fantastic and very engaging, and I love the end of the book where the owner can write their own positive affirmations. I highly encourage you to check out Crystel Patterson's entire line and share within your own circle. I purchased both "Superheroes Here and There" and "I am Different", both part of the Inspired to Be series. I am super excited to give them to a special young person in my life.

This is a social story that is a great addition to any classroom or home bookshelf as it teaches everyone to love oneself truly despite outside opinions. It also has daily affirmations reminders and prompts for you and your child to fill out at home.

This is a great book to celebrate differences. or should I say, what makes us special. After all, if everyone were the same, this world would be such a boring place! The story takes us on a journey to identify the things that make three young ones different from their peers. These differences are however what makes them stand out... what makes them special & unique. There is a place for children to write their own affirmations which is a great bonus. There is some punctuation missing in the story that can be overlooked with the important message that every child should know.

This makes a wonderful gift or addition to a classroom or personal library. What a wonderful story in acceptance that is important for all kids to hear.

This book is fantastic. It deals with a lot of important topics, all while being gentle and understanding. The words flow well together so my 4 year old can repeat certain sentences (which helps him further grasp the concepts). I would highly recommend it to kids and parents! I met the author at a book festival and she was so kind.
